Air Jordan 4 "Black Laser" Returning in February 2027

Published: by Peter Coyne

Jordan Brand is reportedly bringing back the Air Jordan 4 "Black Laser" in February 2027, marking the first retail release of this exact colourway since its original drop more than two decades ago. Reports from sneaker outlets indicate the retro will closely follow the original build and aesthetic that made the model so sought after.

The retro is expected to preserve the signature look: a black leather base covered in intricate laser-etched graphics, contrasted by bold red accents on the Jumpman logo, inner lining, and the back of the tongue. Subtle grey touches will appear on the heel panel and portions of the midsole to balance the design.

The "Laser" series occupies an important place in sneaker history. First introduced in August 2005 alongside a "White Laser" edition, the design arrived during the Air Jordan line's 20th anniversary and signaled Jordan Brand's shift toward lifestyle-driven storytelling. The laser etching on the leather upper was intended to map moments from Michael Jordan's career and gave the shoes a distinctive, narrative-driven texture. The brand has revisited the laser concept only occasionally since then, with notable versions in 2015 and 2019, making an authentic return of the 2005 black and red color blocking a major draw for collectors focused on archival releases.
